Telecommunication Industry News & Updates.- France Telecom's profits up 89%: France Telecom reported a net income of $6.8 billion for 2005, up from $3.6 billion in 2004, helped by gains from asset sales. The company also said it plans to cut 17,000 jobs over the next three years to reduce costs.
