WIRELESS NEWS: Now Court ruling a blow to BlackBerry maker RIM

Wireless & Cell Phone News.- U.S. District Court Judge James R. Spencer voided Research In Motion's request to enforce a $450 million settlement with patent firm NTP, which had argued the deal was never finalized. The decision weakens RIM's position because it now must engage in new settlement discussions with NTP to prevent an injunction that would halt BlackBerry sales in America, including me. Patent law experts say they expect the companies will reach a deal, although RIM says it has a workaround in place if they cannot.
