WIRELESS NEWS: Telecoms' mergers could shake up wireless business

Daily Telecom News by Luis Galarza

Wireless Industry News & Updates.- The companies formed by the mergers between Verizon Communications and MCI, and between SBC Communications and AT&T are likely to reshape the way wireless service is marketed and used. The new wireless push could expand the capabilities of wireless devices on the market as well as change the way companies buy wireless service. Some of the changes already hit my business, when a lot of my business accounts start asking for more than one cell phone carrier for their staff communications. For example; Some of them got Nextel basic cell phones for regular calls and double radio capabilities, and also got Sprint smart pocket pc cell phones, to share documents, videos, photos, and other applications with their main offices.
